As the game progressed, Anatoly kept his expression passive and free of emotion. To decisively win the game, he had to throw Trumper off his balance and break him down. Seeing that he had a fierce opponent and not a devastated, demolished wreck of a man was one tactic. Showing no reaction to any of the moves the man made, good or bad, was another means to that end.
